Blonde Moments
Normally, I have a limited number of blonde moments in one day. It’s usually one extremely big moment then I’m done for awhile (like the time I got all depressed because I couldn’t get my jeans on that I KNEW I wore the week before, then I realized they were my 9 year old son’s jeans).
Well, this morning it started with my new pair of Levi’s capri jeans. I remembered washing them this weekend. I even remembered folding them over and laying them down on my bed to get a hanger for them, but I couldn’t find them anywhere … not in the closet, not in the “waiting to find my mate” sock basket, not in the dirty clothes, not anywhere! Finally, I gave up and put on my red sundress. I told my now 10 year old son to turn off the television and meet me at the car as I searched for my sandals. When I made it to the car and closed the garage as we pulled out of the driveway, I noticed he was wearing jeans. “Why in the heck are you wearing jeans, its HOT out here!” I yelled. He said, “I found these new jeans in my dresser and thought you might like it if I wore them.” Looking closer, I realized he was wearing my capris!
It didn’t get much better as the day went on …. I soon realized I had let myself run out of a much needed supply to finish a rush order and had to close the store for a quick trip to Walmart. I made a bee-line directly to the correct aisle, never letting my eyes stray from my mission, so as not to be tempted to browse. I picked up what I needed and quickly made my way to the express lane. I was so efficient that I had my PayPal business card (I love getting cash back on my business supplies!) ready and paid in record time. I took my receipt and ran for the door, only to have the cashier chase me down to hand me my purchase. Geesh!
Yes, I could keep going, but you get the idea by now. I wasted an entire day on blonde moments. This must be a secret message from my brain telling me that its time to get highlights. I wonder if I can get a discount from my hair dresser if I prove that I have already mastered the blonde status?
